Ms. Emily Jateff (M.A., Flinders University) serves as project manager, underwater archaeology liaison, and remote sensing specialist for the Charleston office. Her training includes terrestrial and marine archaeological survey, testing, and excavation, artifact analysis and interpretation, stabilization/conservation of archaeological materials, laboratory and collections management, and disaster management for archaeological collections. Ms. Jateff has participated in numerous archaeological projects throughout the Southeastern US, Canada and Australia and has authored professional presentations, publications, and cultural resource management reports. Her research interests include late-nineteenth century shore-based whaling practices, the development of methodologies for archaeological investigation of intertidal environments, and the protection and in-situ preservation of submerged cultural heritage. In addition to her position at Brockington, Ms. Jateff serves on the Board of Governors for SAFE/Saving Antiquities for Everyone and volunteers as an archaeological diver for the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology Maritime Research Division.
