Archaeologist Scott Butler excavates shovel tests during winter survey in Orange County, New York, about 1990.

Archaeologists complete small block excavation of an Indian campsite near St. Stephen in Berkeley County, South Carolina for the S.C. Department of Transportation. The traditional hand screen on the tripod and the Jim Michie designed mechanical screen are supplemented by the famous Brockington Power Round Screen.
