Ms. Joan Gillard holds a M.H.P. in Historic Preservation from the University of Georgia. She has been with Brockington and Associates since 2005 and serves as a historian and architectural historian in our Atlanta office. Ms. Gillard has experience in archival research, conducting architectural field surveys, and the developing and writing of historic contexts. Ms. Gillard masters thesis, on African American Church Architecture in Georgia was defended in 2005. She has served as a historian for both public and private clients in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. Her most recent projects include large scale architectural surveys for Georgia and Alabama Departments of Transportation. Currently she is managing a Miami Modern Architectural Survey for the City of Miami Gardens in Miami-Dade County Florida.
