Computer Applications in Archaeology Conference

Tom Whitley presented a paper titled, "Uncertainty on the Local Scale: Defining Households and Task Areas from Complex Spatial Contexts," at the annual meetings of the Computer Applications in Archaeology Conference, held April 2-6 in Budapest, Hungary. The paper describes efforts, involving generating spatial algorithms and specific GIS analyses, to identify specific households and interpret task areas across a Mississippian/Contact Period village in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Welcome Back Sudha Shah

Sudha Shah has rejoined our Atlanta office as a Senior Project Manger. Ms. Shah is currently pursuing a Ph.D at University of Michigan in prehistoric Southeastern archaeology.

Edward Tufte Workshop

Brockington's designers and graphics specialists attended a one day training course about analytical design. The course, presented by Edward Tufte, covered topics such as presenting statistical data, interface design, scientific presentations, and information graphics. In attendance: Sally Brockington, Inna Burns, Damon Jackson, Erik Mischker, Ambrose Hoilman, and Gitisha Goel. John Cason and Callie McLean previously attended this course.

NCPH Consultant Award

Ed Salo was selected as an honorable mention recipient of this year's National Council on Public History Consultant Award. He will be recognized for his work on Friday, April 11, at the NCPH Presidential Luncheon.
