In 2008, Brockington and Associates excavated the slave quarters associated with 19th century Dean Hall Plantation. The foundations of 14 slave cabins were found and an amazing 120,000 artifacts were recovered from the site. The DuPont Company, which sponsored the archaeological investigations, also supported the development, design, and installation of a large exhibition about the archaeological investigations and the new discoveries about slave life in the Lowcountry generated by this work.
